We are so blessed to live in the Similkameen Valley of British Columbia, Canada. They call the Keremeos/Cawston area the 'Organic Capital of Canada' and I just love that we can get to these organic orchards within a 45-minute drive from our back door. When I started making products under the JamBusters brand I knew I had to keep my local roots intact. I had to use Similkameen Valley grown produce whenever possible. I have been able to do that which not only promotes the wonderful fruit and vegetables available in our area, it also keeps JamBusters true to the belief that we need to find ways to promote the 100-mile diet. One of my recent products has been my very own Valley Apple Pie Jam. It tastes like apple pies Grandma used to make and is just as good on toast as it is eaten with a spoon right out of the jar! I couldn't call it "Valley" Apple Pie Jam if I wasn't using Keremeos-grown apples in the recipe. You'll find all ingredients listed on the top of each JamBusters jar and if the produce is from the Similkameen we identify where in the valley it came from. We are proud of our farmers in the Similkameen Valley and support them as much as we can!

When I first started my online extension to the JamBusters kitchen I wasn't sure if anyone would notice, nor was I all that aware of what I could or couldn't do with a website. At first I thought I'd never need one and when I got one I thought I'd never use it. Was I ever wrong! So when it came to the part where I had to choose my web domain, or the word address you can find me at online, I instantly searched the word 'JamBusters.' I guess if my business was called 'Relish World' or 'Jars Of Goop' I would have searched for those but since I was already using the JamBusters name I tried that. At first I thought all the JamBusters options would be gone and I was close to right. The first available one I found was jambusters.info and I picked that. I've since been learning a bit more about how the internet works and discovered I could also register jambusters.ca, which I did. I wanted to embrace the fact that I am a Canadian and that my product is Canadian so I have switched my main website to the .ca version of my web address. I still have the .info and it still takes you here but I wanted to clearly show off my Canadian pride with the only domain that is purely Canadian! I hope you will agree that I did the right thing. |
