About Our Products...
During the Summer of 2018 we will be in the process of updating our website in places. One of the places we need to concentrate on is Our Products Pages. We have introduced several items over the past few years and not all of them are available all the time. Here are a few reasons why that happens:
- Some of the products we produce use seasonal ingredients and once the batches made with them runs out, we don't make any more until the ingredients are once again available. This means that some products are truly in limited supply.
- Some of the products we produce just get retired. There are a few items we've introduced that - for a lack of a better term - tanked on us. So, rather than try to keep the product alive, we choose to sometimes sell remaining inventory or remove remaining inventory and discontinue that product.
- Some of the products we produce are just "testers" and if they meet with success, we will continue to produce them. Otherwise, the product line ends at the completion of the limited supply.
We are always looking for unusual jams, jellies and other canning/preserving recipes to share with you. Almost all of the produce we use comes from the Similkameen or Okanagan Valleys of British Columbia. The exceptions are few.

PRINCETON MOB PICKLES
When it comes to canning, one of the items we like most is pickles. So when pickling season rolled around we wasted no time. Utilizing the top quality cucumbers grown in the Keremeos part of British Columbia's Similkameen Valley we knew we were using the best possible ingredient. Added to that are sweet onions, fresh garlic and a special blend of pickling seasonings. You can see the garlic and onions in one of our jars and we were quite generous in the amount of onions added to each. The name Princeton Mob Pickles came from a joke related to the fact that each jar contains a decal that looks like a bullet hole. You can pretty much let your imagination run wild with why that happened. The popularity of our JamBusters! pickles saw a couple of different varieties produced and also packaged in three different sizes. When we said JamBusters! was much more than just jams and jellies, our pickles proved that point for us.
GINGERED-CITRUS RHUBARB JAM
This was the very first product produced by JamBusters! It all started as a way to prevent rhubarb from disappearing from our backyard. In addition to the Princeton-grown rhubarb the tartness is enhanced with oranges, lime and a series of other ingredients that make you smack your lips once you've tried it. This Gingered-Citrus Rhubarb Jam is a perfect match for any slice of toast you want to cover with it. It has also been used on a number of other breakfast items including waffles and pancakes. If you are in search of a jam that smacks you in the face a couple of bites into it, then this will be your winner. We are extremely proud of this product and intend to keep producing it as long as we can. We even have bags of rhubarb we've frozen from the yard so expect this jam to be available all year 'round. Here's some interesting trivia for you: This product was used to 'test market' interest in the JamBusters! brand of products.
BANANARAMA HONEY
We had fun with this product from the very start. As our second product Bananarama Honey got attention when offered as a 'taste test' in two different Similkameen Valley locations in British Columbia. It contains organic bananas as the main ingredient along with lemon juice and a couple other items. The most interesting thing about this product is that there is no honey in it yet it spreads like honey and has the texture of honey. Many of those who taste tested it for us swore we had offered them a banana flavoured honey. If honey could be mixed with bananas we are pretty sure it would taste a lot like this. As the second product to wear the JamBusters! brand we also used it to set the tone for the fun, funky names we give most of our products. Bananarama Honey got it's name from the 80's pop music group and because we think it's "a fun word to say" and really, all we want to do is have fun with our products.
CHERRY BOMB FIRECRACKER JELLY
We wanted to go back to the spicy, hot sauce territory JamBusters! has excelled at when we brought out our Cherry Bomb Firecracker Jelly. Well, we did just that. This snappy jelly contains Red peppers and Cherry Bomb peppers from the organic farmland of Keremeos, British Columbia in the Similkameen Valley. To add to the snap we added Cayenne pepper and assorted other items to create a jelly that will beat the crust off of any slice of toast you dare to spread it onto. You can eat this straight out of the jar with a spoon but if you use a plastic spoon we can't be held responsible for the amount it melts with this jelly on it. The label on each of these small jars warns, "It will tickle your tongue" and in reality it'll do just a bit more than that. If you are the kind of person who uses coffee in the morning to wake you up, once you try this you'll throw away your coffee machine in favour of the kick start you get from our firecracker jelly.
